Both singing and the movements of T’ai chi and Qigong are as natural to the body as breathing. But the stresses, strains and constrictions of modern life often make us lose that connection. In this workshop we aim to help you break down some of those barriers and rediscover the innate connection with body, breath and voice. And have a relaxing, friendly and fun day in a truly beautiful and peaceful setting
Qigong (Chi Kung) and Tai Chi – these traditional Chinese therapeutic exercises help release, relax and re-energise the body. With focus on alignment, posture, gentle movement and breathing, we will explore exercises that are suitable for everyone and make the ideal preparation for singing.
More and more research is showing that singing is good for your health. In this session we will be exploring beautiful songs and chants from around the world in delicious harmonies using melody, rhythm and movement to stimulate both mental and physical well-being.
Trish Vella-Burrows and Sue Blakesley will guide us through this workshop, bringing their unique experience of singing and health, Qigong, Tai Chi and performing arts to this special, fun and uplifting day.
The workshop is suitable for all ages, fitness levels and singing abilities. No need to read music or have any particular singing ability or previous experience of Tai Chi & Qigong.
