June 12th – The Great Kent ride for the Canterbury Oast Trust
Come and explore a varied landscape of ancient towns, gentle hills and unspoilt shingle beaches - and help to raise vital funds for the Canterbury Oast Trust at the same time!.
With a choice of two circular routes of 35 or 60 miles, this ride takes you over gentle wooded hills through unspoilt countryside to where the Garden of England meets the Sea.
Starting in Ashford, both routes head back in time across Romney Marsh. At Newchurch, the short route follows quiet country lanes through pretty villages, while the long route heads on towards the coast at St. Mary’s Bay and through the open landscape of the Denge and Walland marshes to the ancient ‘smuggler’s capital’ of Rye, bringing you back across the Isle of Oxney through Tenterden.
Long and short routes converge at the Rare Breeds Centre at Woodchurch, where you can take a well-earned break and learn more about the Canterbury Oast Trust’s valuable work.
The ride starts in North Park, Tannery Lane, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1PL at 8.00am and you can apply online or view more details here:
