Tips for getting the most from kent.co.uk

Are you new to social networking? Here are our top tips for getting the most out of kent.co.uk once you’ve joined up:

  • Make sure you add and update your interests on your Profile page (add interests one at a time, clicking Add in between). This helps the website to find and suggest other content which might be of interest to you.

  • Upload a profile picture so that users and potential friends can identify you (especially if you share a common name with lots of other users).

  • Add some of your favourite places and events to the site, as this helps build up more content for everyone else to share. Make sure to include a good description, as this is one of the areas our search tool looks at.

  • Don’t worry if you can’t find any friends you know at first – as the site grows we will suggest more people you might know in your Friends tab, or you can invite local friends to come and join you on kent.co.uk.

  • Search on your Groups tab to find other networks of like minded users. If there isn’t a group for your hobby or interest, why not create one?

  • Please stay safe when using kent.co.uk. Never accept friendship requests from people you are unsure of, give out your personal details, or arrange to meet someone without letting other people know about it. You can find out more in our Safety Guide. If you are concerned about content you’ve read or the behaviour of other users, you can Report Abuse to us and we will investigate immediately.

  • Likewise, please act in a responsible way when using the website, for the benefit of all our other users. Our Terms and Conditions have a strict policy on what is Acceptable Use including types of content you shouldn’t post and how you should treat other users. If you breach these terms, your content maybe removed or your account closed.
