Grove Ferry in Kent is an ideal spot for picnicking in the meadows, or fishing in the River Stour.
Fishing rights were granted during the reign of Henry II and are still available today. Some of the fishing swims (sections of the river where fish are found) have been adapted for those with disabilities.
It is a good base for following the Stour Valley Walk, the Saxon Shore Way or the Wantsum Walks, and is adjacent to Stodmarsh National Reserve.
During the summer months you can also take a pleasant boat trip on the River Stour from the Grove Ferry Inn.
