Princes Park is located in Dartford to the east of the London border with Kent. The town lies alongside the river Thames and consists of two football pitches, one of which is contained within a 4,000 capacity stadium. Also on the sports campus is a nine-hole golf course.
The Stadium is on the country’s most ecologically sustainable sports stadia and has gained a reputation as one of the best in non-league football. Additional non-sporting facilities include a recreation bar and hospitality facilities.
Sports facilities at Princes Park include a grass football pitch and a 3rd generation astroturf all-weather pitch for outdoor sports. The sports pitches offer top-quality surfaces with the option to play in all weathers; floodlighting offers training outside of daylight hours. The stadium facility is an enclosed public space with the opportunity to train behind closed doors.
Within the stadium building the provision for sports competitors is very good. Competitors can use the extensive range of facilities including showers, physiotherapy room, seminar room, laundry and office facilities.
The location of Princes Park is very good. Road access to the A2 and M25 make travel to major airports, ports and other locations within London and the south east of England very easy.
Train travel is within a few minutes drive and services from Dartford link to London within 40 minutes. Other destinations within the south east are accessible through the local area’s vast network of rail services. International rail links are from Ebbsfleet International, just 20 minutes from Princes Park. Eurostar services from Ebbsfleet connect Dartford to Paris, Brussels, Lille and the rest of Europe.
Hosting experience
The facility has played host to all levels of football from local leagues, pre-season friendlies (with Crystal Palace/Ipswich Town/Tottenham Hotspur), regular matches of Dartford Football Club in the Ryman League, host Charlton Athletic Football Club Ladies.
In addition to Football, the venue has hosted Rugby League, the Dartford Harriers 10km run and there are plans in August to host the British Home International Petanque Championships.
